Canada Trip

Here's a quick day by day of our fun trip.
Day One: Drove from home to Kalisbell, Montana. It was a long but good drive. Dad Dickson has a very comfortable car, so we slept a lot.
Day Two: Woke up and went to Glacier National Park through Logans Pass, also called "Road to the Sky" which we can attest is very fitting. I wish the pictures could to justice, but I have to say they are very good even though John was taking them from the moving car. We also crossed the border, which was a first for me, and headed through Waterton National Park and on to Cardston, Alberta. We went to the Prince of Wales Hotel, which has an amazing view of a lake, and about 1/2 way down the lake is the International Border again. We arrive in Leavitt, a blink of a town just oustide of Cardston where we stayed. Dad Dickson performed the sealing for a childhood friend and his family (He was baptized about a year ago by him as well). It was so good to be around such great people.
John and I took a little trip within the trip to Taber where my Grandma Cousins lived and where her parents lived for a long time. It was so special to be there! We found my 4th Great Grandparents' graves and then visited my grandma's cousin, Glen. It just felt so good to be there and drive around. It's hard to descibe.
Day Three: 1st had to go look for my wallet we left in Tony Roma's an hour out of the way (darn genes) but that gave us an opportunity to find John's 4th great grandparents graves. Then we drove around the city of Calgary and headed to Banff. Entered Banff National Park, which was again amazing and I'm making another slide show for that. We also stopped at Lake Louise but it was so cold all day and raining pretty hard we didn't see much of it. We then headed southeast towards the U.S. again.
Day Four: Went through Rogers pass, which is included in the 2nd slideshow. Drove to Penticton, which is a tourist town at the southend of a beautful lake. It had a great beach and we stayed at the "Tiki Shores" which was very nice. We seriously loved this place, it was warm, and the street our hotel was on paralleled the beach and we had a wonderful dinner too. We got to meet up with Uncle Gary and Great Uncle Jared. It was fun for me to meet and get to know them.
Day Five: Drove to Emily and Brandon's new beautiful home in Winatchee, Washington! So fun to visit and see their new home. So happy for them.
Day Six: Went to church there and again enjoyed time getting to know my new nephews.
Day Seven: Drove to Nampa, Idaho to Andy and Joel's beautiful home. Really enjoyed time there too, especially when their dogs tried to eat my book! It was thrashed but the last chapter was still intact, so I kept it. That shows how great the book is! Love their family. My favorite was watching them sing camp songs around their fire pit.
Day Eight: We made it home!!! Some final memories: Mom forgetting to put her seatbelt on and the dinging noise going crazy until she did. Listening to the comedian Brian Reagan and from there on out, looking for "Moosen" (the plural for moose of course). John and I putting our heads together and sleeping in the back seat. And so many others. THANK YOU MOM AND DAD FOR TAKING US ON A GREAT TRIP!
