It's been a while, I got lazy. But I really want to tell anyone who wants to read this about Education Week. I went to BYU-I, both John and I's alma-mater. I met my old college roommates and life long friends Colette and Sarah up there, and also got to know Kelly Parks, Melissa Merrill, and Becca (Colette's cousin) We had so much fun just being girls again! Not being wives, or moms or sisters, but just friends. That may be one of my favorite roles in life! We'll have to see.
Anyway, me and Kelly drove up Wednesday night and we planned out our classes for the next 3 days. I love having Sarah around because we have the same ideas about sleeping in :D. We went to some great classes, and some not as good. Not that they were bad, just not as interesting as others. I gotta be entertained now days. Thursday night Kelly and I went to see Cherie Call do a concert. I think I went in with low expectations for some reason, but it was soooo great! I now more of her songs than I realized from listening to Sister Swain's cd's, a mission companion. So I really enjoyed that. I am going to try and attach my notes for anyone interested in seeing what I learned. One of the best were about comparing, competing, non-verbal communication, intimacy (which he made funny and comfortable) and about handling what we need to, and letting others handle their own problems.
We cooked our meals together which was a lot of fun. I found out about SparkPeople which is a great site that helps loose weight, and spent late nights talking and catching up. There is such a spirit there! John and I were saying how when you go to school there you get kind of sick of hearing about "The Spirit of Ricks" all the time, and you feel it all the time you don't always recognize it, but wow, going back I really felt it again. I wanted to listen to church music and wanted to be friendly and outgoing to strangers! It's hard to describe, but it's so great.
Anyway, thanks to Cole for getting everything together and inviting us all to go. It was a highlight of my summer and I can't wait to go back!

wow sounds like you learned a lot. Did you like Merilee Boyack? She was in my ward when I lived in Poway.
I love how you put being a friend is one of your favorite roles. It means a lot to me that we have stayed in touch. You always need friends.
And yes, I agree with what you and John said about the "Spirit of Ricks." It is amazing when you go back to visit. That used to just be normal to us!
